West Valley Fire Station – 19800 Cox Ave, Saratoga

West Valley Fire Station provides a bin for sharps and needles drop-off.Sharps must be in an approved container and labeled Sharps Waste or have the international bio-hazard label.Bio-hazard Sharps Container Requirement: 1 quart or 1 1/2 quart size container.Definition of approved containers: Container must be rigid, puncture resistant, unbreakable, leak resistant with a tightly sealed lid.No glass jars, soda bottles, or milk jugs are accepted because these containers are not puncture proof.Sharps disposable containers can be purchased at local pharmacies. If you have further questions, contact the Santa Clara County Department of Environmental Health, Medical Waste Management Programs at (408) 918-3400.
